project description
Drinking water system improvements are currently under construction for the City of Neelyville. The project was successfully funded due to efforts by the city and Heartland Engineering staff. A Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) was written to outline the existing condition of the water facilities and provide preliminary design recommendations based on data collection, analysis, and engineering expertise. The existing infrastructure was mapped and a hydraulic model was created to provide a solid framework that could be used for both the preliminary and final design. The PER was submitted to Missouri DNR as part of an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant application package. This resulted in the city receiving and award of $5,000,000 in grant money for drinking water system improvements.
The project is currently in the construction phase, and will include an extensive replacement of the city’s existing water distribution system, along with exploration for a new drinking water supply well, and general maintenance and design improvements to the elevated water storage tank. Construction on the project is anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2026.
