project description
Drinking water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution system improvements for the City of Fisk. The city has struggled to provide consistent water supply from the two existing alluvial wells, and the treatment plant and distribution system are in need of basic upgrades due to components that have deteriorated over time. A funding package for drinking water improvements was obtained through the Missouri DNR State Revolving Fund in the amount of $2,682,800. These funds will be used to close the existing wells, demolish the existing well houses, and construct two new drinking water supply wells. The existing water treatment plant will receive extensive repairs, including replacement of filtration media, chlorination system repairs, chemical feed system repairs, and various improvements to the plant controls and mechanical systems.
Engineering design began in mid 2024 and was completed by the end of the year. The project was then successfully guided through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources permitting process and was bid out to contractors in February 2025. The construction contracts were successfully awarded and construction will begin in mid-2025. The drinking water improvements project is anticipated to be completed in early 2026.
