project description
Fisk is a small community of approximately 312 residents in Butler County Missouri. All of the streets within the city are paved with asphalt. However, after years of normal wear and tear from traffic and the elements, and the city only having enough funds to complete normal, routine maintenance, transportation safety was becoming a concern. Paved surfaces were becoming rough, and uneven with extensive alligator cracking and chipping. In the summer of 2024 Heartland Engineering assisted the city by completing a preliminary investigation of the transportation system. The preliminary engineering report was used to obtain $622,449 in grant collars from Community Development Block Grant as part of the 2025 funding cycle. Once funds were obtained, engineering design was completed in July 2025 and the project was successfully bid for construction in August 2025. Heartland provided contract administration and construction observation services to see the project through until final completion was reached in November 2025.
