project description
Heartland Engineering was hired by the City of Eminence to write an addendum to a 2022 engineering report completed by another firm. The original report focused only on wastewater collection system improvements. However, the city is also in great need of improvements to the existing wastewater treatment facility. Heartland staff reviewed the existing facilities and data on the Eminence wastewater system, updated the report to USDA Rural Development standards, and included a proposed project and cost estimate to design and construct the needed improvements to the treatment facility. The Addendum was completed and submitted for review by the funding agencies at the end of 2024.
Since that time, the City of Eminence has successfully passed a tax-based general obligation bonding initiative that allows the city to use tourism dollars as a debt repayment tool for the proposed wastewater project, and the city has retained Heartland as the engineer to guide the city through the final stages of design and construction administration. Heartland is happy to partner with the City of Eminence and is prepared to begin work on the final engineering design for the city as soon as the funding process has been completed.
